Regulation and Assurance
Paragon Community Housing Group, comprising of two Trusts, is an independent company. It is subject to the same statutory reporting requirements as any other private company, and conforms to all other regulations set by the UK government.
Who are our key regulators?
Paragon and the two Trusts are described as Registered Providers, and are subject to additional regulations and compliance checks compared with other private companies. A variety of checks are undertaken by the:
• Homes and Community Agency (HCA), and the Regulation Committee of the HCA from April 2012
• Financial Services Authority
• Health and Safety Executive
• Care Quality Commission
Assurance
The Board discharges its responsibility by seeking independent assurances from:
• BDO – our external auditors
• PWC – our internal auditors
• Pegasus Capital – our Treasury advisors
Lenders
The Companies have borrowed substantial amounts to buy the stock, improve it and build new homes. All our lenders monitor the Company’s financial state on a periodic basis.
Reviews
From time to time, the Company’s Audit and Risk Committee commission external organisations to carry out specific reviews of activities.
