Cleaning Services

At Elmbridge Housing Trust, we believe that the quality of the area where you live is just as important as the home you live in. For this reason we are committed to making our schemes and estates places where you are proud and happy to live.

The trust provides a periodic and/or weekly cleaning service to some of our homes across the borough.  Predominantly, the service is provided to our residents who share communal access to their homes and in the Elmbridge Retirement Accommodation schemes.

A service charge is levied to cover the cost of this service provision.

If you would like to receive further information on the cleaning service in your area or would like to get involved in monitoring the contractors’ performance or participate in estate inspections, then please contact the Estate Services Team on info@elmbridgehousing.org.uk who will be able to help you.

Our cleaning includes:

• Sweeping and mopping shared areas
• Cleaning bin cupboards and stores
• Wipe down woodwork, handrails and glass
• Clean lifts and remove odours

Grounds Maintenance

The trust maintains many of the green areas and trees that are within the communal areas of land that we own. Donald Houston is responsible for monitoring the performance of the contractors who carry out this work on behalf of the Trust.

The grass cutting, shrub maintenance, maintenance of garage areas and paths to our general housing stock is carried out by Glendale Grounds Management Limited.

The grass cutting, shrub and path maintenance to our retirement accommodation is carried out by Burleys.

Arboricultural work across the borough is carried out by NSL.

Monitoring of children’s play areas for health and safety is carried out by Playsafe and Craigdene’s.

You are responsible for the following:

• The disposal of furniture or white goods - the local authority will collect these items by arrangement but will not clear them if they are left in bin area.
• If you have your own self contained garden you are responsible for the maintenance of this including responsibility for any trees in the garden.
