Richmond upon Thames Churches Housing Trust

How do I Apply for a Transfer?

If you want to move within the areas where the Trust has properties you may be eligible to go on our transfer list provided that you

  • Have lived in your present home for 12 months
  • Have a clear rent account
  • Have no other serious breaches of your tenancy conditions

If you have a current Notice to Seek Possession, Court order or other similar legal remedy in place, your application will not be accepted or will be cancelled if you are already on the transfer list.

We carry out a very small number of transfers a year and more people are seeking accommodation than there are vacancies.  A transfer typically takes place when a resident is facing harassment or domestic violence or they need to move for medical reasons. A transfer could also take place if there is a problem with the property you live in - if it is too small too large or needs major repair work

If none of the above applies to you, your chances of a transfer may be small and you could wait a long time for a move.  We would advise you to look for other ways of moving to another property, your Tenancy Services Officer will be able to advise you. Click here to find your Housing Officer.
