Resident involvement strategy

We want to encourage and support all residents to be involved in developing and improving our services. We know that the amount of time and ability residents have to be involved varies.

We, therefore, have many different ways both formal and informal for you to let us know your views and help us to improve the service we provide. We want each resident to be able to understand and take part as far as they are able to and wish to.

Accessibility

We want to remove any physical barriers to residents becoming involved and for example shall look to: provide transport; childcare; induction loop; large print; translations; tapes of documents and; where possible shall use venues accessible to disabled residents.

Information

We want all information given to residents to be in a form that is clear, understandable and well presented.

Complaints

All complaints will be used to review and improve services and will be seen as an asset not a liability.

Equal Opportunities and Diversity

We want to involve as wide a range of tenants as possible. Where possible we want to reflect the diversity of our residents.

Training

A new programme of training ran throughout 2010 and early 2011. Residents were able to sign up for courses in a wide variety of areas and work with colleagues from Elmbridge. A particular success was the Better Budgeting course run by Twickenham CAB. These courses will be repeated later in 2011 - contact us on getinvovled@rutcht.org.uk if you'd like to know more.
